Mysore/Mysuru: Miscreants, making use of the large crowd that was in city for Dasara festivities, have stolen gold chains and purse during Ayudha Puja and Jumboo Savari. A total of four separate cases have been registered at city Police Stations.
In the first case, 45-year-old Annadhaneshwari from Koppal had been to Palace on Oct. 4 and was exiting through Varaha Gate, when a miscreant lifted her purse containing Rs. 70,000 cash, Aadhaar Card, Voter’s ID, house keys and other things. A case has been registered at Devaraja Police Station.
In the 2nd case, Sharadamma, a resident of Dodda Arasinakere in Maddur, who had come to city along with her husband to see Jumboo Savari, was boarding a bus in the evening to go back to the village, when she noticed that her 40 grams gold mangalya chain had cut. She then removed it and kept in her bag and was boarding another bus when a miscreant stole it from her bag.
In the 3rd case, 60-year-old Rajeshwari, a resident of Vasanthnagar in city, was standing amongst crowd in front of Torchlight Parade Grounds to witness Jumboo Savari, when a thief stole her 31 grams gold chain.
In the 4th case, Rajamma, 44, of Siddalingapura, was standing in front of Bank of Baroda on Nelson Mandela Road and watching Dasara procession, when a miscreant stole her 35 grams gold mangalya chain. Above 2 cases have been registered at NR Police Station.
