Mysore/Mysuru: The reconstruction works of roads, taken up at a total cost of Rs. 5.15 crore by the Public Works Department (PWD), which was pending since long, is going on and Chamaraja MLA has asked the officials concerned to expedite the works.
The three roads works that are taken up are: 1.3 km stretch on KRS Road from Kumbarakoppal Gate to Surya Bakery Circle at Hebbal and 50 mts stretch from Trinetra Circle in Gokulam to Adi Shakti Temple Circle at Kumbarakoppal near Jayadeva Hospital. Both these stretch of roads would be reconstructed and widened by 10 mts at a cost of Rs. 3.15 crore.
Another 750 mts stretch from Surya Bakery Circle in Hebbal to Hebbal Main Road is also being reconstructed and widened by 10 mts. at a cost of Rs. 2 crore.
The grant for these road works is given by the MLA’s Area Development Fund and the works have been allotted to Govindegowda and Sons through tender.
Meanwhile, PWD Assistant Executive Engineer D. Raju, who is supervising the works, said that the works on laying UGD pipeline and other works have been completed and all pending works including asphalting the three stretches would be completed in 15 days.
PWD Assistant Engineer Varun Kumar is assisting AEE D. Raju, while Executive Engineer H.R. Harish is managing the project.
