Mysore/Mysuru: The District Administration has opened 11 Covid Mitra Centres in Chamundeshwari Assembly Constituency in the wake of spurt in Corona positive cases.
These Centres will function from 10 am to 6 pm daily.
MLA G.T. Devegowda, who distributed medicine kits yesterday, discussed Covid situation with Tahsildhar K.R. Rakshith, Taluk Health Officer and Taluk Panchayat Officer and said he came to know about the scarcity of medicines and so handed over the medicines to Taluk authorities.
The MLA told them to take up sanitisation in each village on behalf of Gram Panchayat. The Tahsildhar must bring to his notice about the scarcity of medicines in COVID Mitras without fail and to create awareness among people about the pandemic.
The purpose of Covid Mitras was to provide treatment for symptomatic and asymptomatic patients in the wake of non-accurate result in COVID test. Many who have been tested negative have died at home for not taking proper treatment. The people in case of any doubt about their health or symptoms must consult doctors available in COVID Mitras who will advise line of treatment, he said.
Doctors will decide whether patient requires home isolation or hospitalisation. Officers must send people with COVID symptoms to nearby Centre in case they come across any, the MLA said.
