Mysuru: N.R. Constituency MLA Tanveer Sait, who is also the Member of Karnataka Wakf Board, inaugurated the Information Centre at Masjid-e-Azam on Ashoka Road here on June 14.
The Centre is established to provide information on various State Government schemes for the minorities such as State Wakf Board Scheme, educational schemes, schemes for specially-abled persons, healthcare schemes etc.
The Centre was inaugurated in the presence of Sir Khazi of Mysuru Hazarath Moulana Mohd. Usman Shariff. The programme began with the recital of verses from the Holy Quran by Hazarath Moulana Mufti Mohd. Shamshul-Huda Chisty, Qazi of Idhara Shariya Masjid Azam. Hafiz Nizamuddin Razvi read Nath Shariff (phrases of Prophet Muhammed PBHU). Masjid member Shakil Ahmed Khan anchored the programme. District Wakf Board Advisory Committee Chairman Arif Mehkri, Moulana Mohd. Anwar Ahmed Nizami, Secretary of AET and Hafiz Qari Sha Mohd. Makbool Ahmed Nizami, Trustee, Tanzeem Ahle Sunnath-wo-Jamath spoke on the occasion and explained the service provided at the Centre.
MLA Tanveer Sait said that there are two Information Centres in city, one at Masjid Khakisha on Harsha Road and another at Masjid-e-Azam on Ashoka Road. He further said that three more Centres would be opened at Nanjangud, Periyapatna and Hunsur.
Ahmed Khan Sha Amerie, M.H. Abdul Hameed, Mohd. Abdulla Shariff Mohd. Mumtaz Sha Khadree, Khizer Ahmed, Shacoor Saheb, Syed Showkath Peeran and Dr. Rafi Ahmed Ashrafi, felicitated MLA Tanveer Sait and Sir Khazi, Wakf Board Chairman, Ulmas and prominent persons on the occasion.
Deputy Mayor Shafi Ahmed, former Corporator Suhail Baig, Prof. Riyaz Ahmed, Secretary of Azam Baitul-Mal (District), Wakf Board Advisory Committee Vice-Chairman Jameel Ahmed Ashrafi, Akbar Aleem, Member Qurath Ali Khan, Meena Bazar Merchants’ Association President Ilyas Baig, social worker Mirza Jamsheed Baig Ashrafi, Mohd. Mumtaz Ahmed, Secretary, District Relief Committee, Syed Younus Muthwali, Masjid Syed Ahed, Rajivnagar, Syed Jameel Khadree and others were present.
