Mysuru: K.R. MLA M.K. Somashekar on Thursday performed guddali puja for drainage repair works at Srirampura 3rd Stage in city.
The repair works of the large drainage, which had become a nightmare to residents whenever it rained heavily, has been taken up at a cost of Rs. 1.5 crore with MUDA providing Rs. 1 crore and the MCC contributing Rs. 50 lakh.
Speaking on the occasion, Somashekar said that the drainage alignment will be altered so as to allow smooth flow of storm water. The works include construction of a 20mt. long culvert on Manandavadi Road and other works that facilitate unhindered flow of storm water, he said.
Maintaining that he had prepared a plan for the construction of a large drainage 3 years ago, the MLA said he has directed the MUDA authorities to complete the works on schedule.
MUDA Chairman D. Dhruvakumar, Corporator Kempanna, MUDA EE Prabhakar and other officials were present.
