Mysore/Mysuru: N. Raghavan, philanthrophist and proprietor of Raghulal & Co. Pharmacy, Mysuru, was felicitated by MLA Tanveer Sait for donating furniture to Government Girls Pre-University College at Rajivnagar in NR Constituency here on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Tanveer Sait said that the Constituency did not have Government Degree College and it will start from the next academic year. Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) has sanctioned a piece of land in Kalyanagiri Layout and work will begin once the Department releases grant.
He appreciated Raghavan for donating the furniture to the Government PU College and said he has been into social service for very many years. Raghulal and Co., a pharmacy in the heart of city, was a household name in Mysuru, he said and added that students of the institution will exhibit their gratitude to Raghavan by scoring good marks in examinations.
Raghavan said if people wanted to do good for the society they can do it by planting saplings for the sake of coming generation.
Former Deputy Mayors, Anwar Baig and C. Sridhar, Corporator Ayaz Pasha, School Development Committee Vice-President Ahmed, Committee Member M. Lokesh, Principal Dhanvantri, Pradeep Chandra, Dhruvaraj and others were present.
