MLA visits dilapidated Govt. School in Tilak Nagar

Mysuru:  MLA L. Nagendra inspected the Government Higher Primary School in Tilak Nagar here yesterday which is in a dilapidated condition crying for attention.

Moved by the deplorable condition of the School, Nagendra assured the School authorities that he would discuss the matter with the Department officials and do the needful.

Speaking to Star of Mysore, BEO (North) Uday Kumar said that the CSI Church adjoining the School had moved the Court claiming that the School area was their property and added that the case was coming up for hearing on June 17. He further said that the Department would appeal the Court to at least permit repair works to be undertaken. He said that there is a move to shift the students (about 60) to a nearby office of the Department of Women and Child Welfare if situation worsens.

‘Guddali Puja’

Earlier to that, Nagendra performed ‘Guddali Puja’ for developing the road beside the School. He said that the 270 m long road would be developed by Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Limited (KRIDL) utilising Rs.30 lakh funded by Minorities Welfare Department.

Nagendra condoled the demise of Actor and Director Dr. Girish Karnad.

Corporator Rangaswamy, BJP leader Swamy, School Development Managing Committee Chairman Prakash, KRIDL Assistant Engineer Suresh and others were present.
