MLA writes letter to CM seeking immediate medical care for critically ill COVID-19 patients

Mysore/Mysuru: Claiming that many critical COVID-19 patients have died due to lack of  appropriate medical care, Congress MLA from N.R. Constituency Tanveer Sait has urged the State Government to take necessary measures for providing immediate medical care for COVID-19 patients.

In a letter written to the Chief Minister on Aug.5, Sait said that the number of COVID-19 positive patients is increasing by the day in Mysuru. Noting that shortage of medical staff such as doctors and nurses has resulted in additional pressure on the existing doctors, he opined that the Government should engage the services of Final Year Medical Post-Graduate students and Para-Medical students studying final year, by appointing them on contract basis.

Asserting that the Government should take over private Hospitals and use them for treating COVID-19 patients, Sait in his letter said that the Government must supply 300 more ventilators to the district by spending MLA Local Area Development Funds.
