MLC appeals Minister to provide facilities for PU evaluators

Mysore/Mysuru: MLC Marithibbegowda has appealed Primary and Secondary Education Minister S. Suresh Kumar to provide adequate facilities for II PUC Lecturers from other districts who have been assigned answer paper evaluation work at Bengaluru.

In a letter to the Minister, Marithibbegowda, who represents South Teachers Constituency in the Legislative Council, urged the Government to compulsorily provide boarding and lodging facilities for Science stream evaluators at Bengaluru, where evaluation is set to begin from June 5.

Stressing on the need for ensuring the health and safety of evaluators in the wake of COVID-19, he said that the Government must not exert pressure on those lecturers who cannot attend evaluation work for justifiable reasons.

Maintaining that he has discussed the issue with the PU Education Department Director, during which the Director had apprised him on the compulsions to conduct evaluation at Bengaluru, the MLC wanted the Government to take all precautions to ensure good health of the evaluators.
