MLC inaugurates Fever Clinic at Hunsur

Hunsur: MLC A.H. Vishwanath said that he has given Rs.1.32 crore for the fields of education and health in Hunsur, out of his MLC Local Area Development Fund.

He was speaking after inaugurating a Fever Clinic and flagging off a hi-tech ambulance at the town’s General Hospital premises here on Monday.

Pointing out that the Fever Clinic has been set up at a cost of Rs.12 lakh and the ambulance costs Rs.30 lakh, Vishwanath said he has given more prominence to health and education sectors as these two are key sectors for development.

Maintaining that the Government is taking all measures for checking the spread of the virus, he assured that he was willing to provide Rs.10 lakh out of his grant if the taluk faced any shortage of medicines.

MLA H.P. Manjunath regretted that the Health Department has not come forward for taking over the new building built at a cost of Rs.22 lakh, an Oxygen centre and the building constructed by ITC. Urging the Health Department to take them over at the earliest, Manjunath said that the taluk has achieved 92 percent vaccine coverage.

DHO Dr. K.H. Prasad, THO Dr. Keertikumar, General Hospital Administrative Officer Dr. Sarveshraj Urs, CMC President Sourabha, BJP leader Nagannagowda, HUDA Chairman Ganesh Kumaraswamy, Tahsildar Dr. Ashok and others were present.
