Mysore/Mysuru: JD(S) MLC Marithibbegowda has welcomed the Government’s decision to revise the allowances being paid for teachers in respect of SSLC exam invigilation and evaluation work.
In a letter addressed to Primary and Secondary Education Minister S. Sureshkumar, Marithibbegowda, who represents the South Teachers Constituency in the Legislative Council, said that he welcomes the Government move to revise the TA and DA allowances paid to teachers who were assigned SSLC examination work.
Thanking the Minister for making travel arrangements for exam duty teachers, the MLC wanted the Government to exempt teachers aged above 55 years, pregnant teachers, teachers having kids and such others from evaluation work.
Urging the Minister for taking all precautionary and safety measures at evaluation centres and payment of allowances on a daily basis, he appealed the Minister to exempt teachers who cannot travel to Bengaluru and Mangaluru for evaluation of first language English paper answer scripts.
