Mysore/Mysuru: Alleging that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s administration is full of falsehood, KPCC Labour Cell State President K. Puttaswamygowda claimed that as many as 14 crore employees have lost their jobs in the last 10 years.
He was addressing a meeting of Congress Labour Cell of Mysuru, Kodagu and Chamarajanagar districts at Indira Gandhi Congress Bhavan near the City Railway Station here on Wednesday.
Wondering why the BJP dropped over 100 of its sitting MPs including Prathap Simha of Mysuru-Kodagu Constituency from the contest, Puttaswamygowda alleged that the Centre has been recklessly privatising the public sector.
Maintaining that the Congress has been working for the welfare of the labour class since the time of Prime Ministers Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, he said that the BJP has ignored the working class.
Highlighting the contribution of Congress for the welfare and uplift of the working class, he called upon the Labour Cell office-bearers to reach out the guarantees and other schemes of the Congress to every doorstep.
He also called for sensitising the electorate on the achievements of the Congress during its tenure.
City Congress President R. Murthy, District (Rural) President Dr. B.J. Vijaykumar, fomer MLA G.N. Nanjundaswamy, Party office-bearers Mahesh, Dinesh Shetty, Harini Gowda, Dhananjay, Narendra, Kamaskhi Gowda and others were present.
