Bengaluru: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address seven public rallies in Karnataka ahead of the Lok Sabha elections to be held on Apr. 18 and 23. The first two mega rallies will be in Mysuru and Chitradurga on Apr. 8, said BJP MLA and election campaign in-charge R. Ashoka. In Mysuru, the PM will campaign for BJP candidate and sitting MP Pratap Simha.
Ashoka told reporters yesterday that the party will hold several meetings to intensify campaigning in the next few days. While venues for the first two Modi rallies had been finalised, the party would soon announce the other locations, he said. Earlier this month, the State unit had requested its high command to hold nine Modi rallies in the State.
“The candidates are not important for us. Modi is the candidate in all the 28 Constituencies. Though there have been some differences over candidate selection, it is imperative for party workers to strive for the victory of the selected candidate,” he said.
