Molestation of elderly woman: Man sentenced to seven years imprisonment

Mysuru: A city Court has sentenced a 42-year-old man, accused of molesting a 60-year-old woman, to seven years imprisonment besides imposing a penalty of Rs.10,500 on him. Ravichandra (42) of Nooralakuppe is the one who has been sentenced.

The 60-year-old woman was returning from a temple at Antarasanthe in H.D. Kote taluk on the night of Jan.14, 2015, when the accused Ravichandra who came on a motorcycle, promised her of dropping her to the village.

But Ravichandra instead of dropping her to the village, took her to a secluded place near the burial ground at Antarasanthe and molested her.

Beechanahalli Police, who investigated the case, submitted charge-sheet against Ravichandra in the Court.

The Special Court Judge P. Chandrasekhar, who heard the case, convicted Ravichandra of the charges and sentenced him to seven years imprisonment.

Public Prosecutor Mahantappa argued on behalf of the State.
