Mysuru: Suttur Mutt, as part of its Moonlight Music Programme, has organised a music concert and also special lecture on the occasion of Guru Purnima on July 9 at 6 pm.
While the special lecture will be delivered by Prof. K. Keshavamurthy, Principal, Bharatiya Samskrutha Vidya Kendra, the moonlight music concert will feature violin-flute-veena recital by Vid. H.K. Venkatram, Vid. G. Ravikiran and Vid. Ashwin Anand, all students of Prof. H.V. Krishnamurthy of Bengaluru. Suttur Mutt Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji will grace the occasion.
Vid. H.K. Venkatram works as Senior Director with a software giant while Vid. G. Ravikiran works as a technical architect with a software firm and Vid. Ashwin Anand is a senior design engineer with a private company.
Vid. Venkatram learnt music from his father since the age of seven. Vid. Ravikiran learnt flute from Vid. S.A. Shashidhar. He has also won many awards including Best Musician and Best Music Presentation awards in a competition organised at Gayana Samaja in Bengaluru. Vid. Ashwin Anand learnt Karnatak Music since 1990 when he was just seven-years-old.
The trio will be accompanied by Vid. K.U. Jayachandra Rao (mridangam) and Vid. G.S. Ramanujam (ghatam).
