Mysuru: Suttur Mutt, Mysuru, as part of its monthly moonlight music programme, has organised a Karnatak vocal music concert by Srikrishna Mohan and Ramkumar Mohan on New Year day (Jan. 1, 2018) at the Mutt premises, foot of Chamundi Hill. Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji will grace the occasion.
‘Thrissur Brothers’ will be accompanied by Vid. Thrissur Mohan on mridanga and Vidwan Kovai Suresh on ghata.
Profile: Srikrishna and Ramkumar, who are famous as ‘Thrissur Brothers,’ are born to Kerala’s famous mridanga artiste Thrissur Mohan. They completed their basic education in music from Balamani Eshwar and are now continuing their music education from P.S. Narayanaswamy. The duo, who have won numerous accolades in the world of music, are Chartered Accountants by profession.
Apart from being popular in India, the brothers are also well- known in USA, Canada, Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand. They have won awards including Nadamani Award by Kanchi Kamakoti Peeta, Best Musicians Award by Indian Fine Arts Institute and Chennai Music Academy, MLV Award by Narada Ganasabhe, Shanmukha Sangeetha Shiromani Award by Shanmukha Sangeetha Sabhe, Mumbai, among others. Their recently released ‘Namami Gange’ music video had received good response from the music-lover.
