It was very nice to read about Dr. M.V. Gopalaswamy (MVG), who founded Akashvani, Mysore (SOM dated Sept.12). However, I would like to add little more information to the MVG family.
Two of his sons were Pilots in the Indian Air Force. The elder son was late Air Cmde M.G. Ramachandra (Bharathi’s father). He was popularly known as MGR in the Air Force. As an Air Cmde, he commanded Air Force Station, Agra, the largest Transport Base of the Air Force, then. He was an able, efficient and an unassuming Commander. I had the privilege of serving under him then.
The other son is Wg. Cdr. M.G. Vijaykumar, retired and settled down in Mysuru.
