Sir,
This refers to the letter by Mubasher Mirza (SOM dated May 21) throwing much more light on MUDA sites and Societies’ Layouts including private developers’ skyscrapers like Gulliver in the realm of Lilliputs. Vertical growth with not more than four or five storeys should be only in separately earmarked areas and not amidst ordinary layouts.
It would be better to build house-blocks of not more than four-storeyed ones and sell them to applicants selected by MUDA itself instead of acquiring fertile land for horizontal growth. If the city is compact, transport will be also easier.
Once again, I request the authorities concerned to read Mirza’s elaboration, which is practical and very wise.
