Mysore/Mysuru: Following the death of Chamarajanagar BJP MP V. Sreenivasa Prasad on Monday, the Government has declared a public holiday today (Apr. 30) in Mysuru and Chamarajanagar districts.
In a notification issued on Apr. 29, H.B. Vijaykumar, Under-Secretary to the Government, said that the Government mourns the death of Chamarajanagar MP Sreenivasa Prasad, who was also a former Union and Karnataka Minister and a public holiday has been declared in the two districts on Apr. 30 (barring pre-scheduled exams) as a mark of honour to the departed MP.
Accordingly, all Government and other public offices and educational institutions will remain closed in Mysuru and Chamarajanagar, the notification said.
