The confusion over the setting up of a Ola cab counter at the City Railway Station has ended with the intervention of Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha.
Simha, who visited the city Railway Station yesterday, met the auto drivers and heard their grievances. The auto drivers complained that a Ola cab counter has been set up at the exit gate of the city Railway Station, displaying a board offering cheap fares, which had deprived them of their livelihood as most passengers were attracted to Ola cabs.
The MP, who gave a patient hearing to the auto drivers, later met Senior DGM Yogesh and other Railway Officials, during which it was resolved to ensure that Ola cabs do not display any publicity boards and that the counter be shifted to a site located beyond the pre-paid auto counter. The outcome of the meeting ended the confusion over the Ola cab kiosk, with auto drivers expressing their happiness over the decision.
