Kalaburagi: Even as reports from New Delhi today said that the Delhi Police Special Cell, which is investigating the Lok Sabha security breach, might record the statement of BJP MP Pratap Simmha, in whose name the authorisation for two intruders was issued, MP Umesh Jhadav has questioned why Pratap Simmha must be questioned as demanded by the Congress party.
Speaking in Kalaburagi, Jhadav expressed his concern over the unfortunate incident and accused the Congress of politicising the matter. He argued that issuing passes for constituents is a common practice among politicians to build support, emphasising that Simmha should not be faulted for such actions.
Jhadav noted that the Government has already taken action by suspending eight personnel and initiating a probe into the security lapse. He urged that the investigations reveal the actual culprits and criticised the Congress for prematurely declaring Simmha guilty before the investigative agencies have identified the accused, deeming it as ridiculous.
