MP writes letter to MCC on including villages within Ring Road in the Council agenda

Mysore/Mysuru: Days ahead of the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Council Meeting that is scheduled to take place on Oct. 29, MP Pratap Simha has written to the MCC Commissioner Gurudatta Hegde to add the issue of bringing villages located within the periphery of the Outer Ring Road (ORR) under MCC jurisdiction.

In his letter written on Friday, the MP said that Mysuru is a fast growing city, with several villages on the outskirts such as Alanahalli, Srirampura, Chamundi Hill, Hootagalli and Hinkal, already considered as part of the city as many Industrial and Commercial establishments have come up there.

Pointing out that the Karnataka Municipalities Act permits inclusion of such villages under the City Corporation limits, he said that the inclusion is very much necessary now.

Noting that it is pertinent to bring such villages under the Corporation limits for improving the civic amenities, he said that the MCC, apart from including this agenda in the next Council Meeting, should also pass a favourable resolution on bringing villages on the outskirts under MCC control.
