Mysuru: The Carmel Catholic Association (CCA), Mysuru, will host the 32nd Annual Carol Singing Competition on Dec. 8 (Sunday) at Maharaja’s College Centenary Hall in city from 8.30 am to 6.30 pm.
This event, organised since 1988, celebrates the joy and goodwill of the Christmas season through carols that spread messages of love, peace and unity.
The competition features 12 categories for participants from Pre-Primary to Colleges and Religious Congregations.
Over 100 teams, comprising around 4,000 participants, will perform carols in English, Kannada and other regional languages.
Winners in each category will be given attractive trophies and cash prizes. Additionally, the school accumulating the highest overall points will be honoured with the coveted Champions Trophy. Each singing team will consist of 5 to 50 members.
Carols presented in English, Kannada and other regional languages will share messages of hope and joy in anticipation of Christmas and New Year-2025.
Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, MP, will be the chief guest to inaugurate the contest at 8.30 am tomorrow. Most Reverend Dr. Bernard Moras, Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Mysore, will deliver the benediction address. Rev. Fr. Rijo Thomas, CMI- CCA Advisor and Joseph Francis, CEO & ED, Rishi FIBC Solutions Pvt. Ltd., will be the guests of honour.
The valedictory ceremony will begin at 6.30 pm with S.L. Chennabasavanna, Director, Karnataka Police Academy, as the chief guest. Mar Sebastian Adayantharath, Bishop of Mandya Diocese, will deliver the Christmas message. Rev. Fr. Augustine Payampallil, Provincial, St. Paul’s Province, Mysore and Patron of CCA and P. Moideen, Chairman, Loyal World Group will be the guests of honour. Prof. Joseph Mathew, CCA President, will preside over the function.
