MP Yaduveer Wadiyar calls on Dr. S.L. Bhyrappa’s family

MP Yaduveer Wadiyar, who recently visited the residence of Dr. S.L. Bhyrappa in Kuvempunagar, Mysuru, seen in conversation with the late writer’s wife Saraswati and son S.B. Ravishankar.

Mysuru, Oct. 15 (MK&DM)- Mysuru-Kodagu MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar recently paid a visit to the residence of Saraswati Samman awardee late writer Dr. S.L. Bhyrappa at Kuvempunagar here and consoled the late writer’s wife Saraswati and son S.B. Ravishankar.

Dr. Bhyrappa passed away on Sept. 24 at Bengaluru Hospital.

Speaking to them, Yaduveer said, he could not visit the family members of Dr. Bhyrappa and express his condolences as he was busily engaged in Dasara and other religious rituals.

He noted that he has submitted a memorandum to the State Government seeking announcement of posthumous ‘Karnataka Ratna’ award to Dr. Bhyrappa, whose works resulted in global recognition to the State, especially Mysuru region.

“I have written to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah demanding naming of City Central Library after Dr. Bhyrappa. I have also urged to construct a Memorial in the Library premises that reflects the life and literary works of Dr. Bhyrappa,” the MP said.
