MUDA 50:50 site allotment scam probe: Congress urges BJP and JD(S) leaders to return illegally got sites

KPCC Spokesperson M. Lakshmana addressing media persons at Congress Bhavan on JLB road yesterday as Mysuru Rural Congress Committee President Dr. B.J. Vijaykumar, City Congress President R. Murthy, former Mysuru ZP President B.M. Ramu and others look on.

Mysuru: Alleging that several BJP and JD(S) leaders too have got sites illegally from MUDA as per 50:50 ratio scheme, KPCC Spokesperson M. Lakshmana has urged the Opposition leaders to return the sites within a week, just as the CM’s wife B.M. Parvathi returned the 14 sites that were sanctioned to her by MUDA.

Addressing a press meet at the Institution of Engineers here yesterday, Lakshmana said that the Opposition BJP and JD(S) leaders had engaged in levelling allegations that a whopping 8,000 sites were illegally allotted by MUDA under the 50:50 scheme. Now that the CM’s wife has returned the 14 sites to MUDA, the BJP and JD(S) leaders too should return the sites, he urged.

Alleging the hand of Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy in the ED registering a suo moto case against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah under PMLA (Prevention of Money Laundering Act), Lakshmana claimed that Kumaraswamy had written a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah seeking a Central Agency probe into MUDA scam. Based on this letter, the ED has registered a ECIR against the CM, he alleged adding that the tone of Kumaraswamy’s letter to Shah was very much similar to the complaint filed by activist Snehamayi Krishna with the ED (Enforcement Directorate).

“The Opposition BJP and JD(S) have hatched a plot to oust Siddaramaiah as the CM by any means. Opposition leaders such as Kumaraswamy, Pralhad Joshi, B.Y. Vijayendra and R. Ashoka are directors and producers of the entire episode, while complainant Snehamayi Krishna is just an actor, playing to the whims and fancies of Opposition leaders,” he said while wondering why the ED had registered an ECIR under the Money Laundering Act against Siddaramaiah, when there was no money transactions at all in the first place. He further said that the people need to understand why the ED has hastily and unnecessarily intervened in the MUDA scam.

Asking BJP MLA T.S. Srivatsa, BJP leader Raghu Kautilya and other Opposition leaders, who were making allegations against the CM and the Congress Government, day in and day out, to launch a campaign for return of illegal sites in possession of  the Opposition leaders, he warned of staging a demonstration in front of the houses of these leaders if they do not return the sites at the earliest.

KPCC member Bhaskar, Party leaders M. Shivanna, Girish, B.M. Ramu and Mahesh were present at the press meet.
