Mysore/Mysuru: The MUDA (Mysuru Urban Development Authority) will present the 2023-24 budget on Mar.13.

MUDA Commissioner G.T. Dinesh Kumar will read out the budget at the MUDA auditorium at 11am on that date. MUDA Chairman Yashaswi Somashekar will preside over the meeting, which will be attended by MLAs G.T.  Devegowda, S.A. Ramdas, L. Nagendra, Tanveer Sait, Ravindra Srikantaiah, B. Harshavardhan, Dr. Yatindra Siddharamaiah and other members.

The Budget presentation will be followed by a Council meeting at 12.30 pm, during which allotment of CA sites, distribution of sites to achievers and other categories and other issues will be discussed, according to sources.

The MUDA had presented a surplus budget of Rs.12,975.66 lakh last year, during which several projects were announced. But many of the projects have remained only on paper. The projects that were declared included affordable group Housing in Vijayanagar and Dattagalli at a cost of Rs.8,550 lakh, Construction of a global standard Commercial complex at Vijayashripura and Lalitadripura, construction of entrance arches at all roads leading into and out of the city, Metro Rail plan, Development of clock tower and Kuppanna Park, formation of a task force for protecting all MUDA properties, construction of stadium and villas, power-distribution sub-station etc.,

Meanwhile it is learnt that the MUDA could not execute the projects as it fell way short of the revenue target.  Now another Budget is being presented and it is to be seen what  the Budget has in store for the people of Mysuru, who are eagerly awaiting sites/houses  and infrastructure improvement in the second fastest growing city of the State.
