Mysore/Mysuru: Resuming it’s drive against encroachment of its lands, the MUDA (Mysuru Urban Development Authority) in an early morning operation today, reclaimed encroached land coming under Maragowdanahalli Survey No. 210 in Gokulam, worth crores of rupees.
The then CITB (City Improvement Trust Board) in 1945, had acquired 5.08 acres of land coming under Maragowdanahalli Survey No. 210 from one G.S. Rangaswamy Iyengar by paying compensation. Later, the CITB formed Gokulam locality covering most parts of the said land, while leaving some space along KRS Road for future development. But a few years later, some persons had illegally erected sheds and built unauthorised structures on this vacant land, that is located close to Gokul Theatre on KRS Road.
Now, following directions from MUDA Commissioner Dr. D.B. Natesh, the officials, armed with acquisition records, demolished the illegally built structures using earth moving machine and reclaimed the land.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of MUDA SE Shankar, AEE Ravindra, AE Puttu Nagaraj and other staff.
