MUDA returns Earnest Money Deposit to site applicants

Mysuru: The Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) had invited applications from members of the public for allotting sites in R.T. Nagar, Chamalapura (Nanjangud) and Lalithadrinagar (Notification No: 01/2011-12 dated Sept.9, 2011).

Later, the MUDA allotted sites in Lalithadrinagar and Chamalapura Layouts and after the completion of the allotment process, the MUDA returned Ernest Deposit of all the site applicants who failed to get sites, through RTGS (Real Time Gross Settlement) in 2012-13.

But in the case of R.T. Nagar Layout, there was a delay in the allotment of sites due to a stay order issued by a Court and subsequently, some of the site applicants got back their Ernest Deposit voluntarily after making an appeal to the Authority, even before the site allotment process was complete.

However, after the allocation of sites got completed in Aug. 2017, following vacation of the stay order, the MUDA returned the Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) to all the applicants who failed to get the sites, through RTGS in 2017-18.

In the case of Lalithadrinagar (North) Layout, after the completion of the site allotment process, all the unsuccessful applicants have been returned their Earnest Money Deposit through RTGS in the period from Feb. 2018 to Mar. 2019.

The unsuccessful site applicants who have not yet received their Bank Account and in case of non-receipt, can apply to the MUDA seeking refund of EMD, according to  a press release from MUDA Commissioner.
