MUDA Scam: Protesters want HC to file suo motu case, probe

Mysore/Mysuru: Members of P.G. Janaspandana Foundation staged a protest at D. Devaraj Urs Road and Narayana Shastry Road junction in city yesterday, demanding the High Court (HC) to register a suo motu case and probe into the multi-crore scam at Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA).

The protesters including former Corporator Prashanth Gowda, District Vokkaligara Sangha President A. Ravi and advocate Gopinath said, in the recent days, leaders of various parties, elected representatives and Right To Information (RTI) activists, are issuing varying statements about the scam, creating confusion in the minds of the public.

Interestingly, MUDA Chairman himself has acknowledged about the scam. The formation of IAS- Officer led Inquiry Committee, transfer of Deputy Commissioner and MUDA Commissioner is further evidence to the scam in MUDA. The statement of Urban Development Minister about the scam, adduce at the fact that both Legislative and Executive have become inert, thus derailing the system, the protesters alleged.
