Mysuru: Muharram, the first month of the Islamic Calendar, was observed by Muslim brethren in city this morning.
Prayers were observed at all Mosques to pay rich tributes to Dharma Guru Hazrath Imam Hussain, who along with his family members, was said to have been assassinated in the Battle of Karbala on the tenth day of Muharram in 680 AD.
The day of sacrifice was observed through fasting which began yesterday.
