Multi-Disciplinary World Summit in city from tomorrow

Mysuru: University of Mysore and Maharani’s Arts College for Women is jointly organising a three-day International Multi-Disciplinary World Summit on Resource Management and Sustainable Development from Feb.22 to 24 at the Senate Bhavan in Manasagangothri campus, said University of Mysore World Summit Director Dr. K. Shivachithappa.

He was addressing a press conference at Pathrakartara Bhavan here this morning and said that nearly 2,000 delegates including 600 delegates from 25 countries and students will be participating. There are 479 papers, out of which 125 papers are from Karnataka and in that 26 papers will be in Kannada.

Higher Education Minister G.T. Devegowda will inaugurate the summit at 10.30 am in the presence of MP Pratap Simha. UGC Member and Vice-Chancellor of B P S Mahila Vishwavidyalaya, Sonepat, Haryana, Prof. Sushma Yadav will preside. Mysore University VC Prof. G. Hemantha Kumar will release the proceedings and James Cook University, Singapore, Campus Dean Dr. Abhishek Singh Bhati will deliver the keynote address, he said.

The guests of honour include International Economics University for SAARC Countries, Maldives, Chancellor Prof. Venkatraman Sundhar, VC of Shaheed Rabbani Education University, Kabul, Afghanistan Dr. Zabiulla Asadi, James Cook University Department of Business Head Dr.K. Thirumaran, American University of Kuwait, Department of  Finance’s Dr. Ralph Palliam, Absal Solution, Schwalbach Hesson, Germany, Managing Director Jismon Jacob and Advisor, Ministry of Science and Technology Research, Sri Lanka, Prof. S.K. Cyril Suduwella.

The papers will be presented in three disciplines of Arts, Science and Commerce and it will be in four venues located in Centre for Information Science and Technology (CIST). There will be a plenary session on Feb.22 between 2.30 pm and 3.45 pm followed by cultural activities. On Feb. 23 there will be ten parallel technical sessions, five in the morning (10.30 am to 12.30 pm) and five in the afternoon (2.30 pm and 4 pm). On Feb.24, there will be four sessions (10.30 am to 12.30 pm). Organising Secretary Reshma Chengappa and K.L.Roopa of Maharani’s College were present.
