Five arrested, two-wheeler seized
Mysuru: Alanahalli Police, on Aug. 4, have arrested five persons on charges of murdering a youth over a dispute in sale of car and have seized a two-wheeler used for the crime.
While the arrested persons have been identified as Mohammed Sabir, Majahid, Riceuddin, Mithesh and Arif, the murdered youth has been identified as Zuhair Mirza, a resident of Manasinagar here.
It may be recalled that on the night of Aug. 2, Mirza and Sabir, had a verbal altercation over sale of a car at Urdu Teachers Layout near Manasinagar, following which Sabir along with a group for his friends, bludgeoned Zuhair Mirza to death by striking his head with a boulder.
Alanahalli Police, who had registered a case in this regard, took up the investigation and arrested the five accused behind Kesare Bus Stand on Aug. 4.
Alanahalli Inspector G. Shekar and staff Shivaprasad, Chowdappa, Mallikarjunaswamy, City Crime Branch (CCB) ASI Vijay Kumar and staff Chikkanna, Shivaraju and Ramaswamy, took part in the nabbing operation.
