The Department of Archaeology, Museums and Heritage will conduct ‘Museum-on-Wheels’ to mark International Museum Day on May 18. The guided tour will begin at 9 am from Wellington House on Irwin Road in city. The concept entails taking visitors to a select few Museums to imbibe in them curiosity about the cultural heritage of the country. According to a press release, the aim of the Department is to help the public appreciate the tangible, intangible and natural heritage and to chip in on their conservation. The Department has chalked out a circuit covering important Museums in city — Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya on Irwin Road, Archaeological Museum and Gallery of the Department of Archaeology located at the Exhibition Grounds, Regional Museum of Natural History (RMNH) in Siddarthanagar, Wax Museum, Sand Museum, Folklore Museum at Manasagangothri, Rail Museum and culminates at Wellington House. The guided bus tour is open to the first 50 persons — in the age group of 18 to 35 — who register. The last date for registration is May 16 by 5 pm.
