Mysuru: The KMPK Trust had organised ‘Sangeetadinda Arogya’ (from music to health) Vichara Manthana (churning of ideas) at Shiradi Sai Baba Mandir on Ramanuja Road as part of World Music Day on June 21 and felicitated achievers in music field on the occasion.
Social worker K.Raghuram, speaking on the occasion, said that the cultural capital of the State, Mysuru, was home to the artistes and the reason for this is the influence of music.
The practice of music helps in improvement of health, the Shankanada clears lungs, following Janapada style will help lead a healthy life, chanting veda mantras will help improve brain power and the Hindustani and Karnatak style of music is appreciated in the West.
He stressed that if children are compulsorily taught music in schools as a subject, then they will have a bright future.
