Music concert and staging of drama at Alwar Kala Bhavan

Srikrishna  Gana  Sabha, Mysuru, has arranged a Karnatak music concert by Dr. Vidyabhushan in memory of S.R. Kumuda on Dec.25 at 6 pm at its Alwar Kala Bhavan in Gokulam.  The event is sponsored by S.R. Kumuda Memorial Trust. Trust President Nandakumar will inaugurate the programme.  The accompanying artistes are Vid. M. Keshav – violin, Vid. H.L. Shivashankara Swamy –  mridanga  and   M.R. Manjunath – ghata.              

Historical drama ‘Srikrishna Devaraya’ will be staged at Alwar Kala Bhavan in Gokulam on Dec. 26 (Sunday) at 6.30 pm in memory of Byadarahalli Subbaraj Urs, sponsored by Sridhara Raj Urs. Maddikere Gopal, President, District Kannada Sahitya Parishat, will inaugurate the play.

The drama is enacted and Directed by ‘Ranga Ratna’ Rangaswamy, a highly devoted artiste who joined Government service as Drama Teacher  in 1988 after completing diploma in Dramatics at Lalitha Kala College, Manasagangothri in 1982. Then he established  an organisation Rangananda Kala Sangha, directed and staged over 25 plays, totalling more than 400 numbers. Notable among them are “Dhana Shoora Karna”, “Sangolli Rayanna”, “Kumara Rama”, “Jalagara”, “Samrat  Ashoka”, etc.
