Mysuru: Vid. T. P. Vaidyanathan has been organising music concerts for the past five years in memory of his wife Vidu. Indira Vaidyanathan, under the aegis of Ganabharathi. This year, as part of her 6th death anniversary, a vocal music concert will be presented by Vidu. Neela Ramgopal, accompanied by Vid. S.P. Ananthapadmanabha on violin and Vid. K. U. Jayachandra Rao on mridanga at Veene Seshanna Bhavana in Kuvempunagar, on Saturday (Sept. 16) at 6 pm.
Being the disciple of N.M. Narayanan and T. K. Rangachari, Neela Ramgopal is one of the senior artistes in Karnatak music field. Being an ‘A Top’ grade artiste of AIR, she is a Guru Par Excellence and has nurtured a lot of young artistes in the field.
She has published a book of 50 Tamil compositions in Kannada. She has been awarded with the prestigious Sangeeth Natak Academy for the year 2016, ‘Sangita Kala Acharya’ from the Music Academy, Madras Music Academy, ‘Sangeetha Kalarathna’ from Bengaluru Gayana Samaj and ‘Kalasree’ award from Sangeetha Nritya Academy.
