Music concert by Shailaja Sriram Bhat at Srikrishna Temple tomorrow

Mysuru: Srikrishna Seva Samithi Charitable Trust has arranged a Music Concert by Shailaja Sriram Bhat (in pic) at Sri Krishna Temple, Gokulam 3rd Stage, tomorrow (May 8) at 6.30 pm on account of Brahma Rathotsava.

Accompanying artistes are Vidu. Shruthi on violin and Vid. Sriram Bhat on mridanga.

Artiste’s profile: A disciple of Vidu. Savithri Bhat Amai (Mother), Bengaluru and Dr. R.N. Sreelatha, Mysuru, Shailaja has obtained Vidwat in Karnatak Classical Music (Vocal) and MA in Music (University of Mysore) with 1st rank and Gold Medal.

She has given concerts at many noted Sabhas such as Ganabharathi, Mysuru, Thyagaraja Sangeetha Sabha, Mysuru, Raagadhana Udupi, Sangeetha Parishath – Mangaluru, Kalyanapuri Vaidika Sabha, Bengaluru, etc. and also in Akashavani.

A ‘B-Grade’ artiste in All India Radio (AIR), she has worked as guest lecturer in the Department of Music, Fine Arts College, University of Mysore.

She has won several prizes in Classical Music Competitions including 1st prize in State-level Raaga-Tana-Pallavi competition conducted by  Shrutimanjari, Mysuru.
