Mysore/Mysuru: Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha has organised two musical programmes this weekend — a vocal concert by Vikram Ramh and a veena concert by Shubha Santosh — at Vasudevacharya Bhavana on JLB Road in city.
Aug.17 (Saturday), 6 pm: V. Raman Memorial Concert, sponsored by Sudha Raman & Aroon Raman, will be a vocal concert by Vid. Vikram P. Ramh. He will be accompanied by Vid. B.K. Raghu on violin, Vid. H.L. Shivashankara Swamy on mridanga and Vid. V.S. Ramesh on morching.
Profile: Since the age of three, Vikram has been training in Karnatak vocals under the guidance of his father and guru S.P. Ramh, a reputed veena and vocal artiste and a senior disciple of Lalgudi Jayaraman. He is currently pursuing BA Sanskrit at Vivekananda College and hopes to pursue music full-time.
Aug. 18 (Sunday), 6 pm: Dr. K.V. Manohar Memorial Concert, sponsored by Dr. Uma and Dr. K.V. Ravishankar, will be a veena concert by Vidu. Shubha Santosh supported by Vid. G.S. Ramanujan on mridanga and Vid.Sharath Kaushik on ghata.
Profile: Shubha Santhosh, a veena artiste, Music Composer and Director, stands as one of the most distinguished veena artistes. Her journey began under the tutelage of late Vid. H. Srinivasa Murthy Achar and she was fortunate to receive extensive training from Gurus Vidu. Sudha Vadiraj and mridanga Vidwan H.S. Sudhindra.
A multifaceted artiste, Shubha has composed, directed and lent her voice to numerous music albums. She had the honour of being called to perform during Rama Lalla Pratishtapana on Jan. 22, 2024, in Ayodhya.
