Mysore/Mysuru: Following reports that the car of Deputy Chief Minister (Dy.CM) Laxman Savadi’s son was involved in a road accident in which a motorcyclist was killed in Hungund taluk of Bagalkot district on Monday night, Laxman Savadi, who is also the Transport Minister, has clarified that his son Chidanand Savadi was not in the car at the time of the accident.
Speaking to press persons at the Government Guest House here yesterday, Laxman Savadi clarified that his son Chidanand was not in the car and he cannot understand how reports on the involvement of his son’s car in the accident emerged.
Asserting that his son was not in the car that was involved in the accident that claimed the life of a 58-year-old farmer, the Dy.CM said that his son’s name does not figure in the FIR filed by the Police as he was not travelling in the car.
Maintaining that his son Chidanand was with his friends in another car which was over 30-km ahead at the time of accident that took place near Koodalasangama Cross on NH-50 in Hungund taluk of Bagalkot district on Monday night, Savadi said that soon as Chidanand was informed of the accident, he rushed to the spot and helped in shifting the injured motorcyclist to Hospital. But the man unfortunately died in the Hospital, he said.
He further said that he would soon be visiting the house of the deceased accident victim and extend all help possible for his family members.
