Expo features stalls of construction materials and equipment, interiors and lifestyle
Mysuru: Builders’ Association of India (BAI), Mysore Centre, has organised the 17th edition of MYBUILD-17, a grand exhibition of construction materials and equipment, interiors and lifestyle at Maharaja’s College Grounds here, which will be inaugurated today (Dec. 6) at 5 pm. Workers were seen giving final touches to the stalls this morning.
The expo will be inaugurated by chief guest Swami Muktidanandaji of Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama, in the presence of Karnataka Pradesh JD(U) President Mahima J. Patel and BAI Karnataka Chairman S.R. Swamy, who will be present as guests of honour.
Stalls: About 200 water-proof stalls measuring 10ft.X10ft. comprising 93 Platinum Stalls and 80 Diamond, eatery stalls, charity stalls and a stall displaying about ‘BAI Mysore Silver Trail,’ of important events and projects of BAI, Mysore Centre etc., have been set up at the venue. A separate Realty Block has been set up exclusively for apartments, layouts, developers and promoters along with bankers.
Products such as building materials, pavements, M Sand, generators, plumbing systems, bathroom fittings, kitchen cabinets, interiors, floor tiles, roofing materials, construction chemicals, building automations, solar systems, paints and hardware, electrical materials, aluminium windows, PVC and moulded doors, elevators, lights and lighting products and rain water harvesting systems among others will be on display. Voice of MYBUILD: A Kannada songs singing competition ‘Voice of MYBUILD’ has also been organised in the evenings for the students to showcase their talents. The semi-finals will be held on Dec. 8 and 9 and the finals on Dec. 10. An in-house musical programme by BAI members and their families will be held on Dec. 7.
MYBUILD proceeds for charity
All the proceeds of MYBUILD will go to Mysore Builders Charitable Trust (MBCT) that takes care of health programmes for construction workers, along with education, training in skill development and construction safety which is being provided at the MBCT training centre in city regularly.
Spoorthi, the ladies wing of BAI, Mysore, will be managing the ticket counters and also six Charity Stalls selling products made by women from Below Poverty Line (BPL), persons with developmental disabilities and orphans. The proceeds will go towards the welfare of the families of construction workers.
The valedictory of MYBUILD will be held on Dec. 11 at 5 pm. The expo, which is open for public from 10 am to 8.30 pm with an entry fee of Rs. 20 per person, will conclude on Dec. 11.
