Mysuru: The two-day ‘MyGreen-17’ expo organised by the Builders Association of India (BAI), Mysuru Centre, in association with IGBC, Mysuru Chapter, will begin from tomorrow (June 24) at Jayamma Govinde Gowda Convention Hall in city.
The expo is being held to create awareness among the residents of Mysuru about green building and motivate them to adopt eco-friendly concepts.
Addressing the media here yesterday, BAI Mysuru Centre Chairman S. Mahadevaswamy said that the expo will be inaugurated tomorrow by Principal Scientific Officer of Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology, IISc., A.R. Shivakumar at 9.30 am. The expo will showcase M-sand, PVC doors and windows, eco-friendly steel buildings, solar water heaters, water treatment equipments, solar lights, electric bikes, etc.
Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, will be exhibiting concepts on rainwater harvesting, biogas, solar energy and renewable energy while KREDL will showcase renewable energy concepts at the expo.
About 40 stalls from reputed companies selling green concepts will showcase eco-friendly construction materials, sustainable and renewable products, organic food products and environmental-friendly lifestyle under one roof.
At 10 am on June 24, an interaction programme with farmers will be held followed by lectures by Rural Development expert K.P. Suresh, Agriculture expert Dr. Prakash Bhat and Progressive Farmer Kailasmurthy.
MyGreen-17 Organising Committee President G.V.R. Naidruva, BAI Mysuru Centre Secretary R. Raghunath, Hon. Secretary M. Rathnaraj and others were present. The expo will be open for public from 10 am to 9 pm for which entry is free.
