Mysore/Mysuru: The newly- formed Mysore Armed Forces Ex-servicemen Association will be jointly inaugurated by Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha and Chamarajanagar MP V. Sreenivasa Prasad at a programme to take place at Kodagu Sahakara Sangha premises in Jayalakshmipuram tomorrow (Jan.31) at 10.30 am.
Chamundeshwari MLA G.T. Devegowda and Association President Havildar (retd.) P.K. Biddappa will preside. MLAs S.A. Ramdas, L. Nagendra and Tanveer Sait, former MLA Vasu, Deputy Commissioner Rohini Sindhuri, City Police Commissioner Dr. Chandragupta and MCC Commissioner Gurudatta Hegde will be the chief guests.
Maj. General (retd.) K.K. Murthy of Mysuru, former Editor-in- Chief of ‘Star of Mysore’ K.B. Ganapathy, MUDA Chairman H.V. Rajeev, KEA Chairman Hemanth Kumar Gowda, Dr. Balasubramanya, Deputy Director of Ex-Servicemen Welfare and Resettlement Department, Brig.(retd.) V.K. Adappa and Lt. Col. C.V. Rajendra, ECHS Poly Clinic Officer-in charge, Mysuru, are the special invitees.
Objectives
1. Addressing grievances of Ex-servicemen and their dependants.
2. Reaching Central and State Government benefits to beneficiary Ex-servicemen and their dependants.
3. Moving Courts on behalf of Ex-servicemen in case they are deprived of their rightful benefits and facilities.
4. Free health check-up camps for Ex-servicemen, their dependants and general public.
5. Addressing pension issues of Ex-servicemen.
6. Extending financial support to families in case of death of Ex-servicemen or dependants.
7. Honouring senior Ex-servicemen and their dependants.
8. Implementation of Swachh Bharat Mission by undertaking regular cleaning of Residential Layouts and Government Office premises, with support from members of the public.
9. Creating legal awareness among backward sections.
10. Visiting all Taluks of the District twice a month for redressal of grievances of Ex-servicemen.
11. Establishment of a training school in the district with funds from the Government, wherein children of members of the public will be imparted skill training.
12. Providing financial support to Ex-Servicemen and dependants in case of hospitalisation.
Also, the Association will provide an ex-gratia payment of Rs.10,000 for CSD Canteen Card Holder Ex-servicemen of Havildar Rank and below, in case of death.
Further, the Association will provide financial assistance of a total of Rs. 65,000 including Rs. 15,000 from DSS Board and Rs. 50,000 from the Centre, towards expenses for marriage of girl children of Ex-servicemen of Havildar Rank and below.
This apart, the Association wants the Government to asphalt roads in the surroundings of the Department of Ex-servicemen Welfare and Resettlement Office, to take necessary action in respect of construction of War Memorial in Mysuru, to construct a building for housing ECHS Poly Clinic and to house the CSD Canteen in a Government building.
