Mysuru: Mysore Merchants Co-operative Bank had organised a function at Nityotsava Hall in Krishnamurthypuram here yesterday to present Pratibha Puraskar to children of Bank members, who had excelled in SSLC and 2nd PU exams. Presenting the prizes, MLA Dr. Geetha Mahadevaprasad, citing her own example, said that education would always bring rich dividends. She recalled that though she had only a BA degree when she got married, she continued her education, completed her doctorate and also entered politics.
Inaugurating the programme, NIE Principal T. Ananthapadmanabha advised parents not to force their children to study a particular subject but instead leave it to the aptitude and interest of children. He asked students to be confident to face challenges in society.
Bank President Sumana, Vice-president A. Prabhu Prasad, Directors R. Anand, M.R. Vijayalakshmi, B.R. Nandish, K. Premakumari, GM Sridhar B. Kulkarni and others were present.
