Mysore/Mysuru: The University of Mysore (UoM), in a first-of-its-kind move, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with two companies to establish Academic Co-work Space — Dhriti Bio Solutions, a deep technology start-up with 4 international patents and 5 best innovation awards and working towards creating a carbon neutral, sustainable and nutritionally secured world and Magnimous Infotech Pvt. Ltd., a biosensor company with State, Centre and International funding. These companies will benefit significantly from facilitated lab and co-working space at Institution of Excellence, Manasagangothri, Mysuru. UoM believes that this Co-work Space will bring together students, researchers and faculty in one platform to foster networking, learning interaction with an end goal of creating student entrepreneurs.
UoM Vice-Chancellor Prof. G. Hemantha Kumar said how academic environment are transforming. Setting up an academic co-work space will complement University’s ongoing initiatives in startup ecosystem and facilitate informal learning and collaboration, he said.
