Mysuru: Saraswathipuram Police, who are investigating the death of Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL) Officer D.K. Dinesh Kumar (50), who had died under mysterious circumstances at his residence near Nirmithi Kendra in Bogadi 2nd Stage here, have now decided to probe the case through technical and scientific investigations.
According to the statements given by Dinesh’s wife and younger son, all the three had their dinner on Sunday (Nov. 27) night and slept. When she and her son got up the next morning, they found Dinesh in an unconscious state and they too fell unconscious. The workers at Dinesh’s house shifted Dinesh to a private hospital, where the doctors declared him dead.
The body was then shifted to MMC&RI mortuary and the doctors who examined the body opined that the death may have taken place about one-and-a-half days ago. The body was decomposing, bloated and blood had oozed out from the mouth.
Dinesh’s maternal uncle Narayan, suspecting foul play, had lodged a complaint in this regard asking the Police to enquire Dinesh’s wife, son and workers. The Police at present have registered a case under Section 174-c of the CrPC, but no case has been registered under any IPC Sections.
On Nov. 26 night, Dinesh, who left for his home from Surya Bakery Circle in Hebbal, met a few people on the way and reached home. Except for this statement in Narayan’s complaint, there is no information about anyone meeting Dinesh later. Hence the Police have decided to probe the case through technical and scientific investigation.
The Police are awaiting the post-mortem report and samples from Dinesh’s body have been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL). Police sources said that the report from the FSL would help the Police in the investigation.
Post-mortem was conducted yesterday and the body was handed over to the family members. Last rites were performed by Dinesh’s elder son at Doddapalya village in Srirangapatna taluk yesterday evening, according to family sources.
