Mysureans complete Ironman 70.3 in Goa

Eight individuals and two Relay Teams from Mysuru successfully completed ‘Ironman 70.3,’ India’s 3rd Edition Triathlon Race held in Goa on Oct. 8. Among the 8 individual participants, Abdul Hannan Khan, Prajwal Prasad and Veera Manikanta have taken part in three or more Ironman events while Dr. Mallikarjun, Vikas Nandy and Bhanu Kumara were first timers and completed in style.

Prajwal Prasad, a Businessman, completed the event in 5 hours 19 minutes and ranked 5th among his age category, Abdul Hannan Khan, Proprietor of Sunpure Oil, completed the event in 6 hours 8 minutes, Dr. Mallikarjun completed in 6 hours and 44 minutes. Bhanu Kumara, Lecturer, DIET, Mandya, took 7 hours 2 minutes, Vikas Nandy, Assistant Administrative Officer, JSS Ayurveda Medical College, took 7 hours 7 minutes, Mahesh Choudhary – 7 hours & 35 minutes, Ehtesham Junaid took 8 hours 20 minutes and Veera Manikanta, completed the triathlon.

The Relay Team Mysore Race Club, represented by Dr. Nitin Srichand, M.M. Nikilesh, M.M. Vignesh, completed the race in 7 hours 37 minutes and one more Relay Team, represented by Parakrami Roopesh Tambat, Dr. Geetanjali and Vishal, a family team (father, mother and son) participated and completed the relay.

For the first time in the history of Mysuru, these tri-athletes were supported by sponsors Sunpure, Cycle Pure Agarbathi, Mode Endevor & Century Laundry. Nearly 1,600 tri-athletes from 50 countries took part in the Ironman 70.3 which featured running, swimming and cycling a distance of 70.3 miles (113 kilometres) with a cut-off time of 8 hours and 30 minutes.
