Mysuru City Police Annual Sports Meet – 2024: CAR Police Overall Champions

CAR Police team, which emerged Overall Champions in the Mysuru City Police Annual Sports Meet-2024, receiving the trophy during the valedictory at CAR Grounds in city yesterday. Also seen are Conservator of Forests Dr. Malathi Priya, City Police Commissioner Seema Latkar, DCP (Law & Order) M. Muthuraju, DCP (Crime & Traffic) S. Jahnavi, DCP (CAR) A. Maruthi and KARP Mounted Company Commandant V. Shylendra.

Mysuru: The City Armed Reserve (CAR) Police team emerged Overall Champions in the three-day Mysuru City Police Annual Sports Meet-2024 which concluded at CAR Grounds in city yesterday.

B.D. Dinesh (CAR) won the Individual Championship in the Men’s category while K. Ashwini (Kuvempunagar  Sub-Division) won Individual Championship in the Women’s category. City Top Cop Seema Latkar emerged winner in Badminton, Shot-put and Firing Competitions.

Women’s Category

In Kabaddi and Volleyball Tournaments, the team from Vijayanagar Sub-Division emerged

champions while KR Sub-Division secured second placed.

In Tug-of-War, KR Sub-Division team led by PSI Bhanukumari defeated Vijayanagar Sub-Division team led by R. Savitha.

Men’s Category

In Tug-of-War, CAR team defeated Mysuru Traffic Police.

In Cricket Tournament organised for the officials, team Kabini emerged winners followed by team Cauvery in the 2nd place.

The prizes to the winners were distributed by Conservator of Forests Dr. Malathi Priya during the valedictory ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, she said that sports help in bringing down both mental and physical stress.

“Police personnel, who are always on duty to ensure public safety, must also concentrate on maintaining good health. There is a need for them to involve in regular exercise and yoga to keep themselves fit mentally and physically”, she said.
