Mysuru Dance Guru conferred ‘Kala Vibhudhendra’ Award

Mysore/Mysuru: The prestigious National Award ‘Kala Vibhudhendra’ was conferred on Karnataka Kalashree Dr. K. Kumar, a well-known Dance Guru from Mysuru and Professor, Department of Dance, University College of Fine Arts, University of Mysore, during the National Dance Festival ‘Tamratil Natyanjali 2024’ organised by Sri Niketan Fine Arts Institute, Chennai, on the occasion of Mahashivarathri on March 8, at Dr. Ambedkar Tirumana Auditorium in Tambaram, Chennai.

Tambaram MLA A.R. Raj, Regional President D. Kamaraj, Founder-Director Dr. Padma Priya and Distinguished Dance Guru Kalaimamani M. Selvam were present.

Dr. Kumar, who received the National Award, along with his daughters, K.M. Lekha and K.M. Nidhi, organised and directed a Bharatanatyam programme, lasting an hour and thirty minutes, involving both senior and  junior students.
