Mysuru film-maker’s short film ‘Pinni’ to feature in BISFF

Mysore/Mysuru: ‘Pinni,’ the Kannada short film by Mysuru-based upcoming filmmaker Bhuvan Sathya, which recently featured in the New York International Film Festival (NYIFF), will now feature in Bengaluru International Short Film Festival (BISFF).

It is the only Kannada short film to compete in ‘Indian’ section of the BISFF which has been approved as an Oscar-Qualifying Festival. BISFF-2021 is scheduled to be held between Aug. 28 and Sept. 5.

The winning films from the Indian and International Competition sections of the BISFF are automatically eligible for consideration in the Live-Action Short Film Category of the Academy Awards, without standard theatrical run, provided the film complies with the stringent Academy rules, according to Anand Varadaraj, the Founder-Artistic Director of BISFF.
