Mysuru girl tops in B.A. LL.B at Gujarat National Law University

Gets scholarship for L.L.M at Geneva

Mysore/Mysuru: Kallichanda Poorna Poovamma of Mysuru has secured the highest marks in B.A. LL.B (Hons.) course from the Gujarat National Law University (GNLU), Gandhinagar.

After her schooling at St. Joseph’s Central School, Mysuru and PUC at Sankalpa Integrated College, Mysuru, Poorna joined GNLU (2018-2023).  She was awarded Late Praful V. Nanavaty Gold Medal at the 14th Convocation of GNLU on Mar.23, 2024 by Supreme Court Judge Justice Bela Trivedi.

While a first year Law student at GNLU, Poorna was adjudged the Best Student Advocate in the Surana & Surana National Corporate Law Moot Court competition held at JSS Law College in Mysuru in 2019.

Students from about 26 top Law Colleges including nine    National Law Schools from all over India had participated in the contest. Apart from excelling in academics, she has passed Junior Grade exams in Bharatanatyam and Karnatak music with distinction.

Currently, Poorna is pursuing her L.L.M in International Law from the Graduate Institute, Geneva (Switzerland) on a scholarship.

Poorna is the daughter of Kallichanda Mudduraj and Anu (Kuttanda), residents of Vijayanagar 4th Stage in city and originally from Balele, Kodagu.
